Thyssenkrupp launches the first lift without cables

It can move horizontally and vertically, is faster and consumes less energy than a conventional lift

The German company Thyssenkrupp has successfully tested the first wireless lift in its Rottweil 246 meter tower. This new system called MULTI can move from left to right and from top to bottom without cables, being one of the most important innovations of the last 150 years.

To develop this system, the German company offers several booths that work in a loop as a subway lines. Through a multi-level brake system, it sends constantly data through a wireless network between the cabins and the control center that manages the energy of this structure. This is like technology of science fiction.

This project is due to the constant vertical growth of the cities. Thyssenkrupp is aware of the greater height of the buildings and responds to a need for architects and builders to transport people in a faster, more comfortable and efficient way. MULTI is able to increase transport capacity by 50% and reduce energy consumption by up to 60% compared to conventional lifts. In addition, the gap provided in the buildings is smaller, so you can increase your floor area up to 25%. Thyssenkrupp will continue to develop this system before its implementation.
